INSTRUCTIONS & MAINTENANCE

Your watch is a real jewel that you can keep and wear for many years if you take care of it. Here are our recommendations so that your timepiece accompanies you over time.

AUTOMATIC WATCH OPERATION

Wearing your watch is enough to make it work. Thus, each of your gestures ensures the automatic winding of the spring and 8 hours on your wrist allows a battery life of around a day. In the event of reduced physical activity or when the watch is rarely worn, the movements may prove insufficient for effective winding. If necessary, it is sometimes necessary to manually wind your watch. And if your watch stops for no obvious reason, we recommend that you wind it manually and adjust the various functions. Finally, in case of doubt, we are at your disposal to advise you.

DATE CHANGE

If your automatic watch has a date, do not change it when the hour hand is between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. because this means that the date change system is engaged. If you need to set the time during this period, we advise you to change the time forward so as not to damage your mechanism.

OVERHAUL AND BATTERY CHANGE

Approximately every 5 years, you can have your watch serviced when you notice a change in its behavior (decreasing power reserve, drop in precision, etc.). These adjustments are made directly to our after-sales service, or to a local watchmaker. For a quartz watch , maintaining your watch involves changing the battery: as soon as the battery is empty, it must be changed, otherwise the mechanism will be damaged.

AVOID SHOCKS

Watches are precious and are sensitive to shock, so care must be taken. We advise you to remove your automatic watch to play sports, particularly when practicing a violent sport or for sports during which the watch is subjected to strong shaking as well as centrifugal forces such as tennis or golf. . Even if the sapphire crystal of your watch is designed to prevent irreversible damage to your dial, it is better to avoid any form of shock that could harm the mechanism of your watch.

BE CAREFUL OF WATERPROOFING

Do not wear your automatic watch in the shower, even if it is a waterproof watch . Heat can expand gaskets. If you use your watch for swimming or diving (10ATM or more), we advise you to have the water resistance checked every 2 years. If you own the Concordia, your watch is perfectly waterproof. Please screw the crown tightly before each swim, otherwise the mechanism may be damaged. After swimming in sea water, rinse your watch with fresh water.

AVOID MAGNETIC WAVES

Finally, avoid prolonged or too close exposure to a magnetic wave source (electronic objects, induction hobs, medical devices, etc.). This could magnetize the movement, causing your watch to behave erratically. These waves will not damage your timepiece but rather degrade its operation and precision. If your watch is magnetized, the most common sign is a sudden large advance. In this case, it is necessary to entrust the watch to us or to go to a watchmaker to demagnetize the watch.

CHOOSE A SUITABLE BRACELET

Choose the right bracelet: there are leather, steel and nylon bracelets more or less adapted to the different activities you can carry out. Leather bracelets are the most delicate, sensitive to water and heat. For summer or sports, we advise you to opt for a nylon strap, or a steel bracelet if you do not want to damage it. Maintaining your nylon or steel watch strap will be easier , simply clean it with fresh water and soap before drying everything with a dry cloth.
