Through our new campaign “ Follow the line "Embodied by the artist Gina Serret, we have chosen to highlight an exceptional encounter: that of watchmaking and calligraphy.
More than a photo shoot, this shoot is a visual and philosophical journey where creative freedom is born from absolute mastery of gesture.
Gina Serret: a Charlie Hebdo woman, free and embodied
Far from the clichés of the decorative muse, we wanted to celebrate a personality guided by passion, patience, and true discipline. A professional calligrapher, Gina Serret handles inks, pens, and brushes with singular dexterity.
To be a Charlie woman is to embrace this freedom of expression and this quiet rigor. Through her creations, Gina demonstrates that the gesture is not a simple technical demonstration: it is the reflection of a pure intention, of an emotion laid down on paper without filter or artifice.
The stroke of ink and the passage of time: an irreversible gesture
Calligraphy is based on a constant dialogue between meticulous precision and letting go. A movement first repeated hundreds of times, until it becomes second nature, then released to give way to spontaneity.
"The hand moves forward, the ink is deposited, the movement is executed without any possibility of turning back. Like time, the gesture cannot be repeated: it is inscribed in the present."
