L’union de l’art et de l’horlogerie : Chronochrome par matali crasset

The union of art and watchmaking: Chronochrome by matali crasset

Chronochrome , imagined by the French industrial designer matali crasset , is a daring watchmaking creation, the result of the collaboration between the artist, the art gallery Love & Collect and our French house Charlie.

The Chronochrome is more than just a timepiece; it is a contemporary work of art that pushes the boundaries of traditional watchmaking design. At the heart of this watch is a striking, bold and rare dial representing a colour wheel. This vibrant composition of colours is meticulously balanced with dark details, such as the indexes and hands, which subtly contrast with the chromatic brilliance of the dial. Its black Milanese mesh bracelet completes its modern and sophisticated look.

Matali Crasset , known for her innovative approach to industrial design, brought her unique touch to this collaboration. With the Chronochrome , she introduces a new way to read time: through color. The hour and minute hands, adorned with hollowed-out discs, act like pipettes on Photoshop, skillfully combining two shades taken from the color wheel. Each moment of the day is thus defined by a unique color association, offering an incomparable visual and temporal experience.

" Living color is a necessity for me because color heals and repairs us without us realizing it. The desire to live and color are thus greatly correlated. I therefore imagined this chronocrome to enjoy each moment, because each moment is colored differently. The time that passes, the life that flows are celebrated here thanks to the use of color, by savoring the present moment ." matali crasset

This collaboration between matali crasset , Love & Collect and Charlie Paris perfectly illustrates the harmonious fusion between art, design and watchmaking. Limited to only 100 pieces, each Chronochrome watch is signed by matali crasset : https://charlie-paris.com/products/matali-crasset
