Meeting with Samuel Redon, ambassador of the new Concordia Azure

To mark the launch of our new quartz diver, the Concordia Azure, We met Samuel Redon, top-level surfer and Charlie Paris ambassador. Between waves, freedom and precision, he shares his vision of the ocean and time.

What does the ocean represent for you on a daily basis?

The ocean is my refuge. It's the element in which I feel truly alive. It soothes me as much as it awes me. It can be as gentle as a blue silence or roar with the force of storms. Its moods guide my days, my weeks, my year… ultimately, my entire life.

What role does time play in your surfing practice?

Surfing demands a time management that is both precise and instinctive. The ocean is unpredictable. You have to contend with the weather, the tides, the swells… and the constraints of daily life. Over the course of a year, I travel to the other side of the world in winter to enjoy the best waves, while summer is dedicated to training. Over the course of a week, I juggle surf sessions and work. And in the heat of a competition, everything happens in 25 minutes: that's when I have to give it my all.

What does the freestyle spirit mean to you?

It's freedom. The freedom of a lifestyle where you draw your own path. In surfing, each wave becomes a canvas. You etch curves, trajectories, choices onto it. There's nothing more vibrant than this freedom to create, to improvise, to feel.

Why did you agree to represent the Concordia Azure?

There Concordia Azure It perfectly embodies the spirit I'm looking for: a subtle call to adventure, a balance between technicality and elegance. It goes everywhere with me, even in the water. Its waterproofing is impeccable, and its understated yet assertive style suits my lifestyle.

What struck you about the design of the Concordia Azure?

What immediately captivated me was the depth of its gradient blue dial. It evokes the ocean in all its richness, an intense, shifting, mysterious blue. I see in it both the purity and the power of the element I love so much.

A memory you associate with this watch?

A perfect summer day. Warm sand, sun on my skin, clear, sparkling water. A sunrise session, a watch on the wrist, a suspended moment.

Three essential values ​​in your practice?

• Humility : Because the ocean is always bigger than us. We must learn to listen, to observe, to respect.
• Perseverance : Because nothing comes easily. You fall, you struggle, you start again… and one day, that perfect wave offers you its reward.
• Login : With nature, with myself, and with others. My father, my friends, my brothers of the waves. It is this connection that makes it all real.

Your favorite spot to refocus?

The spots in the Southwest remain my refuge. Before, after, during: everything is beautiful. The light, the pine trees, the storms… But my most cherished place remains my home spot, at sunset, with my family. Nothing can replace those moments.
